One time I went over to Calgo Gardens plant nursery on a nice summer day, looking for my friend Allen, whose family owned the place. I was strolling out in the field, when a customer pointed and asked me about a certain shrub. I started telling her, this is a Berberis Canadensis, it does well in partial shade in alkaline soil [just making up stuff from terms that I had heard Allen using]. Allen, warned by some sixth sense, came rushing across the field waving his arms and shouting, "Don't listen to him! Don't listen to him!" The lady looked a little confused; Allen took over and straightened things out, and the woman gave me a brief glance, like, is this their retarded cousin or something?
